Fender American Original – Recreating What Started It All

Keepin’ it Original

New for 2018, the Fender American Original series faithfully recreates your favorite classic guitars and basses. The primary focus was to modernize the feel and electronics to cater to today’s player, while maintaining the legendary style and tone of the originals.

There’s no doubt that Fender revolutionized the musical instrument space as we know it, beginning in 1950 with the birth of the Telecaster. The American Original lineup includes a variety of ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s-style recreations, highlighting key evolving features from each decade.

’50s: Telecaster, Stratocaster, Precision Bass

’60s: Telecaster, Stratocaster, Jazzmaster, Jaguar, Precision Bass, Jazz Bass

’70s: Jazz Bass

As the years passed, discoveries were made. Experimenting with different tone woods, neck shapes, finishes, and much more became a vital ingredient for success. These discoveries launched Fender’s instruments into the hands of professional and aspiring musicians everywhere. Now, over 60 years later, Fender is reminding us what we have not lost. The American Original series proves that legends can live on forever, despite our ever-changing world.

With original-era body radii, classic finishes, the familiar 9.5″ radius, and many other famous appointments, you can be sure that Fender’s legacy will live on in any American Original model you choose. Each model also features Pure Vintage single-coil pickups that are as period-correct as possible. From enamel-coated coil wire, to alnico magnets, to cloth-covered output wires, you can achieve spot-on, classic Fender tone. To top it off, each model includes its own vintage-style hardshell case. And for the rebels, don’t “fret” – your favorite Offset models have the same Rhythm and Lead circuits that made them famous among dozens of genres.

Fender has not only proven their craftsmanship, leadership, and ability to revolutionize the music industry. They have also proven that time travel is real. And that’s pretty cool.
